My trip in Romania

During the Easter holidays, I went to Romania to see my brother. He is a trainee at the french embassy in Bucharest.

I took the plane in Zurich on Thursday and arrived by night in Bucharest. After looked for an hotel and ate some delicious dish, it was already time to go to bed for the long day coming. On Friday we visited Bucharest; the most imposing building was Ceauşescu’s palace. I don’t know if we can visit it but the building itself is so grand. The most larger after the Pentagon ! This is two pictures that I have taken.

On Saturday’s morning we rent a car and went to Brasov across the magisterial Carpathian Mountains. On the road we stopped at Sinaia to see the Peles’s castle ! It is a refine Neo-Renaissance castle.

On Sunday we went to Bran to see Dracula’s Castle. On the road there was a woman selling traditional flutes and speaking a very good French ! That was interesting, she played traditional songs. Bran Castle is really old, it was built in 1377. Inside, it is actually poor adornment but with many information about it owners over the time.

Romania is a country of contrasts : I saw a herdsman with an iPhone ! Or lots of Mercedes, BMW, old Dacias and some carts ! Romanian people seems to be attracted by new technologies, I think it’s a good point.

On Monday I went back to France… that was short but really nice. I really enjoyed this trip, see you next time Romania !

Otherwise, my next school project is to develop a game based on The Settlers of Catan in Java. Stay tuned !
